6th Class 3D Projects
Our 3D Recycled Projects
As part of our STEM work this month, our class was given a challenge to make a 3D model completely out of recycled materials. We had to design something famous, a landmark, a building, or something from our imagination. We had one month to plan, collect materials, and create our projects.
We used lots of different recycled things like cardboard boxes, cereal boxes, egg cartons, toilet roll tubes and tin foil. Some of us made real-life places like the Empire State Building, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, Cork City Stadium, and Big Ben, while others built imaginary things like a princess castle, colourful fish, or starfish.
On showcase day, we presented our projects to the class and talked about why we chose what we made, what materials we used, and what challenges we faced. Lots of us found it tricky to get our buildings to stand up or to hot glue gun things together.
We learned how to plan, problem-solve, and reuse materials in creative ways. It was fun to see how everyone’s ideas were so different, even though we all started with the same challenge.
We hope you enjoy looking at our projects, we’re really proud of them!
